Under 15 Anglo-Scottish

Over the weekend of 12th and 13th October, Northumberland’s junior badminton team took part in the annual Under 15 Anglo-Scottish tournament at the Tyneside Badminton Centre.   This usually brings together up to eight counties playing off for the trophy but this year there were only four other teams taking part from Lothian, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire. Two Golds for Ellen at Tees Valley

Thornaby has proved to be a good hunting ground for our PC players in recent years and so it was again at the Tees Valley Under 17 Bronze tournament.  The stand-out successes came from Ellen Davison who came home with two gold medals and a bronze.   She was backed up with golds for Charlotte Graham and Sonny Ho, silvers for Amy Ward and Charlotte, and bronzes for Ollie Edmondson, Jack Tilbury and Sonny. Local Successes in BE Under 19s and Under 15s

We recently held the first of our Northumberland BE junior circuit tournaments for the new season at the Tyneside Badminton Centre.  Events were held for Under 19s and Under 15s, although a very disappointing entry for the younger age group meant that there were no girls or mixed events. (more…)

Junior County Restricteds – ENTRIES OPEN

All our young players in the Performance Centre, Futures and junior age-group team squads should be entering at least one of our junior championships, for which entries are now open.  The tournaments will be played at Tyneside Badminton Centre as follows –

Under 13 (2008 births or later) and Under 17 (2004) on Saturday 21st September
Under 15 (2006) and Under 19 (2002) on Sunday 22nd September (more…)

Well Done to the Under 13s at Largs

At the end of May, Northumberland’s Under 13 badminton team travelled to the Sportscotland National Sports Training Centre Inverclyde at Largs, on the Ayrshire coast, to compete in the annual Anglo-Scottish Tournament. This brings together eight teams from northern England and all over Scotland in an exciting weekend of badminton. (more…)
