An early start was necessary last Sunday for our U18 team and the parents travelling down to Pontefract to play Yorkshire 1st. Managed by Karen Daison and Daniel Tinnion, the team was:

Our Under 16s scored an excellent 14-6 Shires League victory over Lancashire2 this weekend. Fielding a team designed to broaden the base at this age group, we brought in a number of younger players to join two of the more regular boys. The team, managed by Richard Taylor and Daniel Tinnion, was –
Ava Doyle, Eve Beechinor-Collins, Katrina Ho, Naomi Silva, Hugh Twelves, Jamie Grant, Ryan Cockett and Xuehan Zhang. 
The annual Under 17 round in the Anglo-Scottish team tournaments took place just before Christmas. The team was:
Tim Bodani, James Dodd, Sonny Ho, Matty Short, Ollie Edmundson, Jack Tilbury, Lucy Dodd, Ellen Davison, Charlotte Graham, Amy Ward, Teeda Prapunwong, Katrina Ho, Anna Kroon (guesting from Durham)

On Sunday 15th December, the Northumberland Under 14 team travelled down to Pontefract to play against the Under 14 Yorkshire second team. The Northumberland team were: Jasmine Osborn, Naomi Silva, Reema Rajeev, Sophie Cockett, Mathew Jefferson, Oliver Heron, Ryan Cockett and Thomas Vicente.

Our Northumberland round of the BE Bronze Under 13 Circuit was held at TBC in late November and brought a good sprinkling of medals for our youngest juniors. (more…)
Northumberland’s BE Under 17 Bronze tournament was run parallel to the Under 13 event in late November and again saw medals of all colours won by our county juniors. The honours went to Lucy and James Dodd, Charlotte Graham, Amy Ward, Ollie Edmondson, Jack Tilbury and Matthew Short who were all placed in the medal positions. (more…)

Last Sunday saw both our U14 and U18 teams playing their counterparts from Yorkshire. The younger team are still very inexperienced and found the going tough, losing the match 6-14:…
Northumberland’s U18s continued their strong start to the Shires League season with an impressive 17-3 victory over North rivals Cumbria, at Tyneside Badminton Centre in early December.
Northumberland’s team were: Charlotte Graham, Eve Beechinor-Collins, Natalie Ho, Teeda Prapunwong, Dominic Wilson-Baker, Jai Nayyar, Matty Grant and Sonny Ho. 
On a very cold start-of-December day, Northumberland’s Under16 team travelled to the neutral venue of Pontefract to play Cheshire in their first match of the season in the Shires League. The team, managed by Joel Dodd, was Charlotte Graham, Ellen Davison, Katrina Ho, Lucy Dodd, Hugh Twelves, Jack Tilbury, Jamie Grant and Ollie Edmondson. They were up against a strong Cheshire team, including a number of high achievers on the junior national Circuit. On paper this was going to be a tough match for Northumberland and so it proved to be – although the final score of 17-3 in Cheshire’s favour was perhaps an unfair overall reflection of the whole match.
