On to the main event, the final. St Gabriels comfortably won the first rubber, the mixed doubles, but in a reversal of the group stage, Tom Moore defeated Ryan Jelley 21-18 in the 3rd set to level the match. Victoria Brewis then beat Holly Robson in 2 close sets to put St Gabriels within touching distance of victory, but they were denied in the mens doubles as Anthony Norris & Sam Moore again held their nerve to overturn the loss of the first set, and win the final set 21-18 to set up a deciding ladies doubles match. Maddy Harrison & Rebecca Boldon took the 1st set by the tightest of margins 23-21, and then upped the pressure in the 2nd set to win comfortably 21-15, to claim the win for St Gabriels. Congratulations to them, and commiserations to Northumbria University.St Gabriels Team
