North East leads the way for No Strings Badminton

No Strings Badminton in the North East is flourishing following the recent announcement that Willowburn Leisure Centre and Ponteland Leisure Centre have been awarded No Strings Badminton National Franchise of the Month awards for January and February respectively!

The No Strings Badminton sessions attract an inspiring mix of regular players ranging from the more ‘mature’ to a number of youngsters choosing to replace their mp3 players with a badminton racket, temporarily at least! There is a great dynamic and atmosphere at the sessions all made possible by the co-ordinator’s who are on hand every week to offer help and advice where needed and get people playing and enjoying their time on court.

“I have been attending the sessions since they were introduced last year and thoroughly enjoy them. Claire’ wonderful and there’s a great bunch of people of mixed abilities. It’s good fun and a good workout.” [Steve – Willowburn No Strings regular]

“I used the Leisure Centre for swimming and noticed the advert for No Strings Badminton last autumn. I’d not really played badminton before but gave it a go and I really enjoy the sessions and haven’t missed one since starting. There is a really positive ethos at the sessions and it is a good social occasion with lots of humour and friendship.” [Daphne – Ponteland Badminton convert!]
