Another great set of matches, with Michael winning both play-off matches 15-14 to clinch the title by the narrowest of margins.
Boys U15 doubles
Winners: Calvin Watson/Ben Charlton (Morpeth Riverside)
Runners-up: Murray Wright/Raman Gill (West End Cobras/Ponteland_Walbottle)
The scratch pairing of Murray and Raman do really well to reach the final, but Calvin and Ben prove one match too far on this occasion
Winners: Arohan Subramonia/Alex Glennie (Tyne Met Sharks)
Runner-up: Murray Wright/Sarah Wilson (West End Cobras)
An interesting final, with good use of softer shots to take the pace off the shuttle. Arohan and Alex manage clinch a close final 15-12.
Clubs entering a minimum of 3 girls and 3 boys were entered into the team event, with singles results being used to calculate a team winner. Congratulations to North Tyneside Badminton Academy who won the trophy, achieving a singles win percentage of 66%, with Morpeth Riverside the runners-up on 33%. Francesca Wilkinson received the trophy on behalf of the Academy. Which club will rise to the challenge of wrestling the cup off them in November?
