Young Officials

Northumberland Badminton Young Officials Programme:

NBA is offering Badminton Young Officials the alternative pathway to the top of their sport. The Badminton Young Official Award (YOA) is aimed at young people aged 14-19. The 4 hour course is a combination of practical and theory sessions designed to equip the Young Official with the necessary skills and a qualification that will allow them to officiate at badminton events.  Click here to see more information on BADMINTON England’s website.

If you have not yet done this Award, ask your teachers about it!

If you have already completed this Award, congratulations on becoming a Young Official!!

NBA has a planned Pathway of opportunities for you.  Click here to see the full Pathway document.  NBA also has an Incentive Scheme which rewards Young Officials who help out for a specific number of hours. Click here to see the full Incentive Scheme. To be eligible for the scheme you will need to sign up to our YO Commitment Contract.

Your next step is to contact the NBA Young Officials Coordinator, who will help you find suitable events to help at.  The YO Coordinator is Martin Fagan and he can be contacted by email, or by telephone on 07759781673.
