The Northumberland Grading and Ranking system was set up in September 2004 only in Northumberland County. It is based on the French Grading System with some adjustments that were needed to suit our needs. To date, the tournament participation has increased by more than 450% vs. before its inception.

The singles tournament due to be held at Benfield on Sunday 8th of May has unfortunately been cancelled due to insufficient entries. Next season we will do everything possible to make sure our singles events are held much earlier in the calendar. |

| 20/3/2011 - New Graded Tournament Dates |

There have been some more changes to our calendar for the rest of the season. Please note that the Newcastle Medicals BC C&E Graded Doubles Tournament will now be held at Benfield on Sunday 10th of April, and both the B&D and C&E Graded Singles Tournaments will now be held in May. We're very sorry that we have had to change these dates, this is due to us being unable to secure suitable venues. Entries for the Newcastle Medicals BC C&E Graded Tournament will be open soon. |

The results from the A/B graded uppers tournament have now been published on tournamentsoftware.com, and can be found through the results menu at the top of the page. The results will be included in the rankings very soon. |
| 18/01/2011 - Northumberland Uppers Tournament (A/B Grades) - Entries Now Open! |

The entries for this tournament, which will take place on Friday 4th February (Singles), and Sunday 6th of February (Doubles and Mixed) at Benfield Centre for Sporting Excellence, are now open! The tournament is aimed at A and B graded players, but players from grade C and below may enter and will be accepted subject to availability. All event details can be found on the online entry form. Click here to submit your entry online, before Wednesday 2nd of February. We are trialling a new online entry form on www.tournamentsoftware.com for this event, so if you have any problems with the entry process, or have any queries about this event, please contact tournaments@northumberlandbadminton.org. While you can enter the tournament without creating an account at tournamentsoftware.com, we recommend that you do create an account, as it will allow you to edit your entry once it has been submitted. |

We are looking for clubs who would be interested in hosting a graded tournament at their own venue. Please get in touch to discuss the possibilities for your club. It's a great opportunity to advertise your club, your venue...as well as being very rewarding!
