16/12/2009 - New Grading and Ranking Database |
|
At long last, the new grading and ranking database is now fully accessible to all players. All tournament results since the start of the season have been uploaded in the database. Simply click on the menu bar above to access both player and club specific information, as well as the rankings. Note: In order to view these pages, you will need to have Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. So, what's new with this database? Below are some of the new features that are available:
1) Dynamic Navigation: you can view the information the way you want to. For example click on the header of a column to sort the information the way you want to. You can even move the columns around if it makes it easier for you!
2) Always up to date: the rankings pull the information directly from the online league tables. So as soon as a league match has been submitted and approved, your results and rankings will be updated automatically. As of now, all league matches submitted online will be approved at most within 7 days.
3) New Player profile layout: you can view any player's profile and results by double-clicking on their name. We've also added a link called "what do these numbers mean" in every profile to help explain what all the points, matches and averages actually mean. And of course, you also benefit from the same Dynamic Navigation feature to sort your results by date, points, event, etc by clicking on the column headers.
4) New Rankings diplay:the rankings list now will only display players that are active, i.e. that have played at least one match in a given discipline (Singles, level doubles or mixed doubles). So if you want to have a ranking, then take part in one of the many graded tournaments available during the season. Also to note that all players with the same average will have an equal ranking (as it should be!).

If you have any technical issues, please send an e-mail to Webmaster
Or if your query is to do with your grade, personal details or results, please write to Grading System
Finally, we'd love to hear from you! It's been a lot of hard work by only a few (volunteer) people to get it up and running, so we'd appreciate any positive and/or negative feedback you may have. We also have a wish list going, so if you've got some ideas on how to further improve it, we'll add your suggestions to the list and look at them next year. So, to tell us what you think, send a note to: Webmaster.
Thanks for your patience, we hope it was worth it :) |

06/10/2009 - Rankings Database update |
|
The database that manages the rankings and grades is getting a major facelift! The work started 4 months ago and will take a further 2 months to complete. This means that there will be no rankings update until December 1st 2009.
This is to give us enough time to check that the system is ready and robust enough to handle all your requests.
The good news however is that Phase 1 of the project, the online submission of league matches has just been completed. This means that all (home) teams are now able to submit their league matches online. (For further information on this, please talk to your match secretary)
We will keep you posted on as the project progresses. |
