BADMINTON ENGLAND OPEN TOURNAMENTS

For those players who wish to test themselves against players from other counties, BADMINTON England provides an extensive Junior Tournament Circuit. These tournaments should be a next step after playing in our Super Series and County Restricted Tournaments.

To enter these tournaments you must have a current Badminton England registration [also called affiliation] either via your club or direct, including COMPETE membership. If you don’t understand what this is ask your club coach/organisers. You can also contact our County Registration Secretary, Mike Waterfield.

Badminton England’s Junior Tournament Circuits are nationwide and split into three tiers; Gold, Silver and Bronze, providing access to all players looking for more competitive opportunities.

Player Ranking Points and Grading

Once you have played in one of the BADMINTON England Open Tournaments you will be given national ranking points and also a grade: either ungraded, grade 3, grade 2 or grade 1. Grade 1 is for the highest standard players. If you haven’t played in one of these tournaments before then you will automatically be classed as ungraded. These grades will eventually help you find the right level of tournament for your current ability and level of play so that you compete with other players of broadly similar ability and level.

For more details on national ranking points and gradings follow the link here.

Please note ranking points and gradings decisions are made at National Level by Badminton England.
